Add the mayonaise to a small dish, and combine with the vinegar. Crush the garlic and add to the dish. Chop the capers, leaving some whole, and add to the mixture. Stir well. Season to taste.
This is a basic base recipe - you can add gerkins, lemon juice, etc to add your own touch.
