This is my recipe for the prefect porridge using mixed oats for different textures and flavour, milk, water, a dash of cream, and drizzled in maple syrup :-)
To microwave this quickly, simply add the oats, milk, water and salt to a bowl, then microwave on high for 2 minutes. Stir, then microwave again for around 1-2 minutes until just boiling. Stir, let it sit for a couple of minutes, then add in the cream. Dizzle with maple syrup and enjoy :-)
To cook on the hob, add the oats, milk, water and salt to a pan, then cook on a medium heat until simmering just on the boil for 4 minutes, then serve as per above.
You can use semi-skimmed milk and no cream for a healthier version.
